A top level event rider who traveled to Florida with her horses Wednesday morning was told at the Agricultural Station, that they were considering a stop on all horses leaving Florida - this has not been officially confirmed.

We have been taking temps on our horses twice a day and watching for abnormal behavior. Our vet, Dr. Bachelor came yesterday and was positive about the entire situation which was a huge relief for all of us. However, we are all worried and send best wishes to the barns, owners, riders and most of all the horses who are affected.....and the next time you see your veterinarian -  say thank you !

The Wellington, FLorida showgrounds have been hit by a Herpes/Rhino virus outbreak, according to local newspaper and TV stations. Regrettably, 2 horses had to be euthanized already and it is unclear, how many of the over 500 horses at the showgrounds have infected. The rumor mill is working overtime - some suggest, that the entire State of Florida might be quarantined.
